March 3, 2006, Newsletter Issue #91: How Much Is Safe?

Tip of the Week

Unfortunately, it is unknown just how much caffeine is safe to consume during pregnancy. Studies have shown that expectant mothers with a high caffeine intake tend to give birth to smaller infants. Because it is unknown how much caffeine is safe, it is important for expectant mothers to discuss the issue with their physicians. A physician can help determine how much caffeine should be consumed on a daily basis.
