February 24, 2006, Newsletter Issue #90: Is Acetaminophen Safe?

Tip of the Week

Acetaminophen is the main ingredient found in Tylenol and is used for fever, headaches and minor aches and pains. This medication is safe to use during pregnancy as long as it is used correctly. One or two tablets or capsules every eight hours is usually the best bet for pregnant women. If you find that this dosage does not help ease your pain, talk with your doctor about how much he or she recommends.
